India is a focus market for Taurus, underpinning its growth markets investment strategy that was first launched in Turkey and Argentina in 2006. With inherent, long term advantages such as a massive domestic market of 1.4 Billion people and a young, aspiring demographic profile, India has quickly developed into one of the global economy’s growth engines.
Taurus’ investments in India are concentrated in the Office and Retail/Mixed Use asset classes, with a secondary focus on Mid-scale Housing and Co-living. The preferred investment strategy is Build-to-Core Development, which involves ground-up development of institutional quality, substantially pre-leased assets.
With the largest college-educated workforce on the planet, India has rapidly developed into a global hub of the technology and business services industry, at the same time as its domestic services sector has demonstrated explosive growth. Large Indian firms and the global capability centers of multinational companies alike are absorbing Class A office space in record volumes in primary cities like Bangalore and Chennai, as well as in secondary destinations like Trivandrum.
